Media Hub · AI Explainer Studio

Explainer videos, drafted with Elsie. Approved by you.

Pick a topic, an audience, and a length. Elsie drafts a scene-by-scene narration script with visual directions and LCME source citations. You review and edit the script, then explicitly approve it — nothing renders before you say so. Then preview the narration in your browser, or hand the approved script to the studio render pipeline for a production MP4.

Unofficial resource: scripts are AI-generated and must be human-reviewed before use. This studio is not affiliated with or endorsed by the LCME, NBME, USMLE, NRMP, AAMC, or any medical school.

Privacy: everything below lives in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is uploaded. A school deployment can connect its own Firebase project — the integration seam (connectFirebase) is documented in js/explainer.js with namespaced collections simeded_explainer_scripts, simeded_explainer_queue, and simeded_explainer_companions.

1 · Describe the video

No script drafted yet.

2 · Review the script status: draft

Read it, edit it, check every citation. The script is a draft until you approve it below.

Approving locks this version into the render queue with today's date.

3 · Render queue

Approved scripts land here. Preview the narration in your browser today; production studio renders are assembled by the site operator with the documented pipeline.

4 · Companion materials

For an approved script, Elsie can also draft a one-page handout and a committee briefing. Both are marked DRAFT FOR HUMAN REVIEW and are fully editable.

5 · Your data

Scripts, queue, and drafts live only in this browser (localStorage key simeded_explainer_v1).

How it works

  1. Describe the topic, audience, and length.
  2. Draft — Elsie writes a scene-by-scene script (~130–150 wpm) with visual directions and LCME citations.
  3. Review & approve — edit freely, verify the citations, then approve under your name.
  4. Preview — hear the narration on your device with auto-advancing slide cards.
  5. Render — the production MP4 pipeline (TTS + ffmpeg slide assembly) is documented in RENDER.md; completed videos get their own page under /media/explainer/videos/.
